“You are the salt of the earth.
But if the salt loses its saltiness,
how can it be made salty again?
It is no longer good for anything,
except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
(Matthew 5:13)
He pours the salt
into a stew of
anger
brokenness
crimes
drugs
evil
fear
greed
hate
indifference
jealousy
kooks
lust
materialism
nastiness
obscenity
pain
religion
stupidity
terrorism
un-anything
violence and
waste.
He stirs it
over a high open flame
tastes
and says:
“It could use a little more salt.”
